Our Process: From Concept to Creation
Smile is a rotating coat rack designed to keep garments accessible from every direction. Combining 3D printed components with natural wood, the piece balances functionality with a playful and expressive character.
The project transforms an everyday furniture object into an interactive experience through smooth 360-degree rotation and modular construction. Its sculptural form introduces movement and visual engagement while maintaining practicality and ease of use.
By merging digital fabrication techniques with traditional materials, Smile explores the relationship between contemporary product design, usability and emotional interaction within domestic space.
The project received the Iron A’ Design Award 2025–2026 in the 3D Printed Forms and Products Design category.

Each component is designed through modular geometric elements that support both structural stability and easy assembly. The combination of lightweight 3D printed parts with natural wood creates a balanced and durable construction.
The rotating head enhances accessibility from every angle while introducing a playful interaction between the user and the object. The project investigates how everyday furniture can become both functional and emotionally engaging.
