This perspective is particularly visible in the Destijl Collection, where geometric forms are designed to change depending on how they are worn, viewed and experienced. The collection draws inspiration from structural clarity and spatial composition, transforming simple shapes into dynamic wearable objects.

Influenced by designers such as Gerrit Rietveld and Zaha Hadid, Lampropoulou examines how form can respond to the body and create new relationships between movement, space and perception.

Observation plays a central role throughout the process. Small everyday gestures, unexpected ways of handling objects and natural human behavior often become the starting point for experimentation, structure and usability.

The final stage of the experience focused on three award-winning designs by 3D Season, recognised in international competitions such as the London Design Awards and the French Design Awards.

Through these objects, the discussion shifted from process to intention. Visitors were introduced to the conceptual background of each design, the inspiration behind its form and the design decisions that shaped its final outcome.

 Exploring the Design Process Behind the PHÓS Wall Lamp

The interview explores how the project connects digital fabrication with cultural references, transforming traditional visual patterns into contemporary lighting design. Produced through 3D printing, PHÓS translates embroidery-inspired geometries into a luminous structure where light becomes an integral part of the design narrative.

Through this project, Lampropoulou investigates how heritage, technology and design research can coexist within contemporary objects. The layered geometry of the lamp allows light to pass through the surface, creating changing patterns that evoke both textile traditions and digital structures.

The interview also highlights the role of 3D Season as a design studio focused on the intersection of design, storytelling and additive manufacturing, exploring new ways of expressing cultural memory through contemporary production techniques.

Greek product designer Sophia Lampropoulou, founder of 3D Season, was recently featured on the international design platform Muse.World following recognition at the London Design Awards.

A Few Words About the Designer

Sophia Lampropoulou is an Athens-based product designer and founder of 3D Season, a contemporary design studio and brand. Her practice focuses on the dialogue between digital technology and craftsmanship, exploring how the precision of 3D printing can coexist with the warmth and materiality of physical, handcrafted media.

Having studied at AKTO – BA (Hons) Product Design, as well as Computer Science & Telecommunications, her work combines technical knowledge, material research, and emotional storytelling. She is particularly interested in material behavior, tactile qualities, and the subtle functional gestures that define the relationship between an object, the body, and everyday life.

Her work has been presented and awarded both in Greece and internationally. Through exhibitions, collaborations, and object collections, she seeks to create design proposals that balance clarity, functionality, and poetic presence.
