Our Process: From Concept to Creation
GlowBee is a modular construction toy that transforms play into a hands-on exploration of structure, balance and form. Composed of individual interlocking parts, the object invites interaction, allowing the user to actively shape and assemble the final outcome.
The experience extends beyond assembly. Through light-responsive elements, the object evolves after construction, introducing a subtle transition from making to activation. This duality between building and interaction reinforces curiosity, imagination and engagement through time.
Inspired by the bee as a symbol of cooperation and collective intelligence, the project connects play with storytelling, proposing a more meaningful and experiential approach to toy design.
GlowBee
Produced through 3D printing using PLA, a bio-based and biodegradable material derived from renewable resources, GlowBee integrates sustainability into both its concept and production. The combination of black PLA with glow-in-the-dark elements enhances the visual identity of the object while introducing an interactive response to light.
The modular construction allows the bee to be assembled intuitively from individual parts, encouraging experimentation and repeated engagement. Each component contributes to the final structure, making the process of building as important as the finished object.
Lightweight and durable, GlowBee is designed for continuous interaction, transforming from a simple construction into a glowing presence in low-light conditions. Positioned between product design, educational play and material exploration, the project proposes a more engaging and conscious approach to contemporary toy design.
